Controls Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage PLC Siemens Control Systems: Ensure efficient operation within budgetary and quality standards.
  
• Training and Mastery: Complete a comprehensive training program on electrical engineering requirements within PLC Siemens and other systems.
  
• Equipment Maintenance: Keep plant and equipment fully operational to meet production requirements year-round, adhering to budget and timelines.
  
• Project Planning and Installation: Assist with planning, installation, and commissioning of equipment. Monitor and optimize performance.
  
• Collaboration: Liaise with engineering and stores managers to ensure the availability of essential spare parts.
  
• Capital Projects: Support capital project planning and installation as needed.
  
• Control Systems Engineering: Manage Siemens PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation.
  
• System Improvement: Plan, maintain, and modify control systems to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  
• Safety and Compliance: Promote and ensure safety, health, environmental, and quality standards are met.
  
• Administration: Maintain an orderly and accurate administrative system for the section.
  
• Training: Provide induction and safety training for new starters or visitors and pursue professional development opportunities.
  

Technical Skills:

• Automation Hardware and Software: Hands-on experience with automation hardware and software.
  
• PLC Control Systems: Understanding of PLC control system architecture and field control devices, Siemens preferred .
  
• Electrical Diagrams: Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams.
  
• Code Monitoring and Development: Experience with online code monitoring, modification, and development.
  
• Automation Control Start-Ups: Proven track record in automation control system start-ups, loop tuning, and troubleshooting.
  
• Programming: Experience with PLC Siemens (Simatic S7-1500), HMI Siemens WinCC, VFD (Sinamics, SEW, Lenze) .
  

Requirements

• Technical hands-on ability relating to automation hardware and software.
  
• Strong understanding of electrical diagrams.
  
• Experience in automation control system start-ups, loop tuning, troubleshooting.
  
• Training and certification from Siemens is preferred.
  
• Programming experience with PLC Siemens (Simatic S7-1500), HMI Siemens WinCC, VFD (variable frequency drives: Sinamics, SEW, Lenze) .
