Job Description - Custodian- Priceville Jr High School

Job Description

12 Month 240 Days  8 Hour days
Salary: $28,807 - $34,750Title: Custodian                Immediate Supervisor:   Principal
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated aptitude to understand and carry out assigned custodial responsibilities
  2. Such alternatives to qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Skills and Abilities:
  1. Possesses knowledge and ability to perform multiple janitorial functions
  2. Completes all work orders in an efficient manner as directed
  3. Follows all schedules and list of responsibilities as assigned by the principal
  4. Follows all Morgan County School policies and procedures
Essential Functions:
  1. Opens and closes school daily
  2. Monitors and adjusts heating and cooling systems to maximize efficient use
  3. Cleans and maintains all floors, including stripping and waxing
  4. Removes all trash daily
  5. Assists teachers in moving or relocating furniture and equipment
  6. Cleans and disinfects all surfaces periodically
  7. Assists teachers in the disposal of unusable materials in a proper fashion
  8. Replaces light bulbs, HVAC filters, and other items as directed
  9. Reports any vandalism immediately to the principal
  10. Provides all necessary supplies to all restrooms
  11. Completes all janitorial functions as assigned by the principal and administration
  12. Monitors and cleans all restrooms during the day
  13. Completely cleans and disinfects all restrooms daily
  14. Reports to principal and completes requisition for all janitorial supplies
  15. Provides cleanup and rearrangement of all facilities after all events
  16. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  17. Assists other janitorial personnel in developing and maintaining a productive and safe working environment
  18. Engages in continuous professional training that enhances personal knowledge and self-improvement
  19. Represents the school system, department, and all school personnel in a positive manner at all times
Other Attributes:
  1. Physically able to perform all duties associated with position
  2. Wears appropriate clothing and safety protections
  3. Contributes and encourages a team effort and desire to serve the school system including other personnel, members of the community, parents, and students.
  4. Regular and punctual in attendance
