Job Description - Customer Service Agent

Join our outstanding team at Jody Roberts, State Farm Insurance! We are currently seeking a full-time customer service agent who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service to join our small, supportive, and fun team located in Aurora at Hampden and Chambers.

As the main point of contact for our clients, you will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, supporting insurance sales through cross-selling and up-selling, and managing insurance renewals.

The ideal candidate for this role will be proactive, have a natural ability to solve problems, possess excellent communication skills, and have a positive attitude. Additionally, being comfortable making outbound calls and providing sales support, upselling, and following up with sales leads is necessary.

Once you obtain your license, you will be eligible for regular bonuses and commission-based compensation.

The duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service

  • Responding to inquiries from existing policyholders and the general public regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submission procedures, and status, rates, billing clarification, payment plans, and procedures

  • Implementing the agency’s marketing/sales plan and direct mail campaigns

  • Contacting prospects and current policyholders to generate interest in sales appointments

  • Preparing forms, policies, and endorsements when required

  • Updating and maintaining client databases

  • General office duties such as answering phones, filing, ordering supplies, and other admin duties as assigned

  • Able to self-manage, self-motivate, problem-solve, and work independently

  • Tech-savvy and able to learn and keep up with technology and software changes and updates

The experience required includes, but is not limited to:

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service and/or administrative duties

  • Willingness to obtain (or already have) state and federal licenses to sell and service designated products and continue to be licensed in good standing

  • Experience in retail sales and marketing preferred

  • Knowledge of personal lines, life, and health insurance products & financial services is preferred, but not required

Hours and Compensation:

  • Monday - Friday, office hours are 8:30 am - 3:00/5:00 pm (There will be a combo of 6 and/or 8-hour shifts)

  • $20.00/hour plus regular bonuses and commissions, once licensed.

  • ($21/hour with a property and casualty license)

  • PTO, Sick, and Holiday Pay

  • Casual or business casual work environment
