Database Administrator

The Garrett Group is seeking a certified Database Administrator to support USSTRATCOM J-7. Applicants should possess a degree and/or an industry-standard certificate/license that demonstrates knowledge, skills, and ability in database administration, along with at least 3 years of experience as a database administrator. The combination of education and experience must showcase the following core job skills: data modeling and database design, database schema creation and management, general database management, ensuring data integrity and availability, capacity planning, and expertise in web-specific technology.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting a database-driven application, including maintaining version control in a split development/production environment.
• Experience designing and/or refactoring to a normalized relational database schema.
• In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL).
• Ability to automate atomic database transactions within a programming language (e.g., T-SQL, C#, Python, etc.).
• Familiarity with querying external databases using web-based APIs and RSS.
• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience working in an AGILE development environment.
• Understanding of how to import, export, and alter files using the CSV and JSON file formats.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.).

Education and Experience:

• Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; or
• A current intermediate-level database engineer or administrator certification from a major database provider (e.g., Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Oracle).

Other Requirements:

• Candidates must have a current Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
