Database Administrator, Platform Engineering Services

Amazon Fulfillment Technology - Platform Engineering And Services (PES) Database Team is currently looking for a Database Administrator for it’s Bellevue, WA office. As a database administrator, you will work directly with software engineers to implement solutions to accommodate our growth through lean and efficient approaches to data storage. You will have the opportunity to provide direction to our businesses and guide the design of our systems based on realistic time lines and resource constraints. We have an immediate need for a creative and driven database administrator who has a passion for building systems that have a measurable impact. The right candidate will be innovative and technically versatile. Design and development experience with several enterprise class applications that have successfully launched is preferred. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Bellevue, WA Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities in this role:
Effective communication and strong collaboration skills are requirements for the position

Platform Engineering Services Database Engineering Team is responsible for Engineering, Architecture, Scaling Solutions to Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT), SCOT (Supply Chain Optimization Technologies), WWCR (WW Customer Returns), Gift Cards and Amazon Payments. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience as a DBA, Database Engineer, or similar role is required.
3+ years experience DynamoDB, NoSQL Databases and/or other relational databases like RDS, PostgreSQL.
2+ years of experience in Database migrations, Creation of Objects in SQL, NoSQL technologies
1+ Experience with RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Redshift and/or other RDBMS systems
Experience in UNIX shell and SQL, and at least one procedural language such as Python, Ruby, Java, Perl
