Deckhand (Forklift Operator)

Job functions include:

• -You will operate and maintain the main engine and associated machinery to assist craft engineers.
• -You will follow radio instructions to maintain safe vessel operations.
• -You will perform line lash-up between a ship or craft and a tug to verify lines are safely secured.
• -You will handle lines and cables during docking, moving, and towing operations.

• -Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• -Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• -You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• -You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• -You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• -Shall respond to radiological emergencies and perform radiological drills.
• -Must complete 2nd class swimmer and complete Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain Course within 90 days of assignment to this position.
