Job Description - DevOps Engineer

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a highly experienced Kubernetes Engineer to play a vital role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of containerized applications running in a Kubernetes cluster environment. This role will work closely with DevOps teams, developers, and infrastructure systems administrators to design, implement, maintain a Kubernetes infrastructure environment. LOCATION: ATLANTA, GA OR GREENBAY, WI NO H1B What You Will Do
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in a cloud or edge environment.
  • Utilize management tools such as Rancher.
  • Leverage technologies such as Dynatrace and Splunk to monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization.
  • Quickly resolve any issues affecting the health of the cluster.
  • Configure Kubernetes manifest files for containerized application deployments.
  • Implement rolling updates, load balancing, and scaling for containerized applications.
  • Create config maps, manage secrets, and other critical Kubernetes resources.
  • Configure and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and/or ArgoCD.
  • Configure and maintain Kubernetes load balancing technologies such as MetalLB.
  • Create Infrastructure as Code (IaC) leveraging tools such as Terraform or Ansible to provision Kubernetes clusters.
  • Design and implement high availability Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement Kubernetes industry best practices while documenting and share knowledge with existing team members.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience working on a Kubernetes platform with a proven ability to config and deploy production workloads.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Experience leveraging ArgoCD and Rancher.
  • High proficiency in Docker containerization.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, IT, or a related field.
  • Kubernetes Certification (Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer)
  • Extensive knowledge in microservices application architectures.
  • Experience in developing containerized application leveraging Python and Golang.
  • Experience supporting a large multi-site, multi-cluster Kubernetes environment .
