SALARY: Starting wage $16.00 to $18.00 an hour, dependent on education and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to young adults with serious mental health needs. This position will teach clients (ages 18-21) life skills that will help them live in the community. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist clients with moving in and out of apartments, teaching clients how to cook, clean, and shop. The qualified applicant will provide direct client care, maintain/model appropriate boundaries, and teach applicable coping and problem-solving skills. Complete reports and documentation as necessary. In this position, the candidate will be trained as a certified medication aide and will be responsible for clients’ daily medication administration.
QUALIFICATIONS: For direct support staff, a high school diploma or GED; and experience working with youth are preferred. Must be at least 21 years old and be able to complete orientation training according to agency program standards. Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs, or sex crimes. Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
