Location Augusta University - Our Health Sciences Campus: 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912 Our Summerville Campus: 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904 College/Department Information The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia. Job Summary Provides oversight for the synchronization and administration of institutional and college policies and procedures to all DCG personnel. The position serves as DCG personnel resource administrator for all staff personnel issues and concerns. It is accountable for financial decisions leading to the fiscal welfare of the college. Stimulates the free follow of information through all areas of the college between departments within the enterprise as an effective communicator and encourages the open expression of ideas and opinions to promote growth. Duties include strategic planning, budget, finance, HR, grants, contracts, DCG overall approval authority for finance & HR matters, development of DCG policies & procedures, liaison between DCG & AU core departments, cost control, lean strategies, faculty contracts, growth & development, etc. Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: DCG PERSONNEL: Serve as DCG liaison with AU Human Resources Division. Serve as DCG Affirmative Action Officer. Compliance officer for DCG to include annual training, performance evaluations & salary matters. Approve funding availability for all DCG new hires to include staff & faculty. Signatory authority/approver for DCG HR matters in various systems & forms to include: OneUSG, Faculty contracts, EPARS, employment requests, position classification forms, badge access requests, health form, etc. Coordinate the selection and placement for all classified staff in DCG to promote collaboration and teamwork among the work force for adequate staffing while remaining lean. Set salary for all DCG staff hires based on equity, experience rating from HR & available funding. Approve salary amount & funding availability for faculty salaries. Review/approve faculty contracts. Resource administrator for all personnel issues and concerns to counsel for grievance, disciplinary actions, and termination. Encourage proficient growth & development through training, seminars, workshops, etc. DCG FINANCES: Serve as DCG liaison with AU Controllers Division. Make financial decisions which lead to the fiscal welfare of the college. Resource administrator for DCG finance questions and concerns for the Dean, Assistant/Associate Deans & Chairman. Develop strategic planning financial approaches to enhance revenue for growth. Work with the Dean & Associate Dean to create cost control processes. Overall budget authority/approver to include all fund sources: state, grants, foundation, faculty practice, departmental sales, continuing education, GME, etc. Overall spending authority/approver on all DCG fund sources as listed above
Responsible for initial budget establishment, amendments/adjustments & budget requests from associate deans & chairman. Budgetary approver for special projects and initiatives. Signatory authority/approver for DCG financial matters in various systems & forms to include: Esproute, OneUSG, Effort, etc. DCG OPERATIONS: Develop DCG policies and procedures for business operations. Chairman of Cost Savings committee and member of other committees within organization as invited. Resolve issues & concerns within DCG related to business operations, personnel, policy and procedures, finances, budget cuts, etc. Provide financial, business, procedural and organizational management support for DCG Dean, Faculty & Staff. Maintain personal professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, professional affiliations, etc. Actively participates in processes which ensure compliance and accreditation standards for CODA. Directs the preparation and maintenance of reports for key areas of performance. In conjunction with the Associate Dean of Business Finance generate and implement strategic plans. Provide direction for efficiencies and process improvements. Responsible for grant management to include routing process & budget through Sponsored Accounting. Accountable for contracts through the Legal Office. Develop lean strategies along with the Associate Dean of Business Finance DENTAL FACULTY PRACTICE (DFP) FINANCES: Oversight of Dental Faculty Practice Clinical finances (Dental Associates) to include: Signatory authority/approver for dental faculty practice Morgan Stanley checking account to include check writing. Responsible for budgeting and balancing oversight of Dental Associate funds in OneUSG. Create journals for Dental Associates books. Manage faculty salary supplements. OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, or a related discipline and a minimum of five years' administrative management experience. OR Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in business administration, or a related discipline with eight years administrative management experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in academic health care and clinical administration operations; extensive knowledge of OneUSG systems; working knowledge of AU policies and procedures; additional years of experience. Extensive finance and accounting experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities KNOWLEDGE
Position will work closely with the DCG dean and associate dean of business/finance. Professional interaction with management at all levels including VP's, Department Chairs, Directors, Department Administrators, faculty, and staff across the enterprise as well as within the college. Will participate in crucial decisions to lead the college to financial growth. Must demonstrate leadership and strong interpersonal and communication skills. This position is critical to the prosperity of the college. SKILLS
Requires strong verbal communication skills which also involves hearing and speaking to be an effective communicator. Must have robust memory for detail to understand and process information being communicated. This position is the resource administrator across the enterprise between DCG & AU core departments and between the staff and management within DCG. ABILITIES
Sound financial business decision making skills required. Expertise in budget management, finance, and accounting. Professionalism and leadership are essential. Strategic planning & forecasting needed. Knowledge of institution systems, policies & procedures, HR matters and operations. Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required) Pay Grade: 24 Salary: Minimum $74,604/annually - Midpoint $100,715/annually Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
