Synergis’ client, a wholesale distributor for the home décor, event planning & floral industries, has engaged us in a search for a Director of Information Technology to join their growing team! The Director of IT will be responsible for modernizing their technical landscape and drive their digital evolution, leading an information technology legacy landscape through a modernization transformation. The selected candidate will provide leadership, drive strategies, make recommendations, and have hands on responsibilities for these innovative improvements.



Director of Information Technology | Background and Scope

• Manage a talented team of driven technology professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, developers, and support staff.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, servers, and data centers.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Maintain and develop business continuity / disaster recover strategy to ensure consistent business operations in the event of any disruption
• Create a current state and future state technology roadmap
• Advise on mission critical solutions for key areas of IT transformation
• Continuous identification of opportunities for technology-driven innovation
• Partner with eCommerce leadership to support company growth and business strategies
• Identify areas of improvements to enhance customer service and support company initiatives
• Develop and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
• Manage IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that Deliver IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within or under budget.

Director of Information Technology | Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (required) or higher (preferred)
• 8 to 12+ years of experience leading IT teams and technology innovation in a multi-functional capacity
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration and support
• 5+ years managing NetSuite (or similar) ERP environments
• Knowledge of all ‘areas’ of significance to IT
• Servers
• Desktops
• Voice
• Internet
• Web technologies
• Solid knowledge of network management and security (i.e., network security best practices)
• Knowledge / experience in the following areas:
• VoIP Phone Systems
• Overall data strategy
• WMS system selection & implementation
• Warehouse automation tools
• Ongoing ERP stabilization & integration with key corporate systems
• Infrastructure: Networking, Storage, Server, etc.
• Experience with creating, managing, and optimizing scalable database environments
• Must have a project management mindset, with an unerring need to complete any task you’ve set out to accomplish
• Results-oriented mindset with a passion for training and staff development
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on communication, organization, and problem-solving
• Broad knowledge of data network concepts, protocols, practices, and procedures.
• Leader with proven track record of initiating and evangelizing change in an IT organization.
• Manage relationships with external technology vendors and service providers.
• Evaluate vendor offerings, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.

• ITIL Foundations certification preferred

Disclosure: The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
