Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary

This position directs the University's marketing/advertising efforts and creative services projects and manages the budget for advertising and related services.

Responsibilities

Marketing (70%) -
Manages an institutional marketing plan that strengthens the University's brand, improves its visibility/reputation and supports recruitment/enrollment. This plan will include multiple, large-scale projects that support the institution's strategic plan as well as the institution's enrollment management plan
Creates and executes high-impact integrated marketing campaigns to achieve institutional goals. This includes content development across variety of channels - print, digital, broadcast, as well as social media and website
Works with Admissions from conception to design delivery for enrollment-related deliverables
Acts as primary liaison with outside marketing/PR agencies, including contract review, review of Scopes of Work, billing, best practices, and resource allocations (internal vs. agency)
Designs and edits various publications for other University departments, programs, and offices
In collaboration with communications team, develop, maintain, and enforce identity guidelines to ensure uniformity in branding and consistent adherence to standards
Supervises use of University's institutional identity including seal and logos
Prepare requests for project proposals and quotes; handle invoicing and payment processes
Manages photography requests and supervise outsourced creative talent for video and audio productions for external audiences
Oversees purchasing and purchasing process/budget for marketing/advertising and related services
Effectively prioritize multiple projects and balance a constantly shifting workload
Assess the effectiveness of all activities Management, Leadership & Collaboration (20%) -
Manages and directs creative team, which includes both in-house and outsourced creative personnel - Marketing's creative team is responsible for developing content for a variety of channels
Establishes strong, positive relationships with the University's multiple campuses, academic programs, and various departments to positively impact the institution's public image
Manages community and school partnerships as related to advertising opportunities
Produces regular reports to include creative projects produced and advertising schedules/placements
Represents Marketing on various University committees
Provides leadership to direct reports, includes setting goals and performance measures for each team member. Mentoring direct reports and developing them professionally
Works in tandem with the Director of Communications on university projects
Provides administrative oversight to projects and personnel Other Duties (10%) -
Performs other related duties as assigned
Travel to campuses or other agencies as needed Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, media or a closely related field Other Required Qualifications
Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to successfully communicate complicated information both internally and externally
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Superior interpersonal skills
Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to meet deadlines or attend events
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Required Experience
4 to 5 years of professional-level experience working in marketing
Experience in team management/mentoring/coaching Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, media or a closely related field Preferred Experience
Project management experience
Experience working within higher education Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of integrated marketing plans and campaigns
Knowledge of marketing best practices

Knowledge of layout/design and editing principles

Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public

Skill in project management
Skill in developing marketing objectives that support business goals and establishing strategies that drive objectives
