Job Description - Director of Therapy

Arbor Therapy is a leading provider of therapeutic services dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in the East and West Valley of Phoenix. We specialize in delivering high-quality occupational therapy and speech-language therapy services to children and adults. The Director of Therapy is responsible for all clinical operations and evaluation of clinical practice, in the designated branch/office, according to Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern this agency. The Director of Therapy will provide leadership, coordination, and day-to-day management for all aspects of the assigned clinical responsibilities in a manner that ensures high quality, cost-effective care. They will perform activities that contribute to the achievement of the company's strategic goals and initiatives. Daily organization and provision of individual Therapists and other services will be assigned or required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the therapy department.
  • Supervise and mentor therapy staff, including physical, occupational, and speech therapists.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of therapy programs.
  • Quality Improvement: Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy services.
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Ensure efficient and effective delivery of therapy services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to therapy services.
  • Facilitate continuing education and professional growth opportunities for therapy staff.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Engagement: Represent the therapy department in interactions with patients, families, healthcare providers, and the community.
  • Promote the organization's therapy services and engage in community outreach.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and growth within the therapy department.
  • Develop strategies to expand the department's services and enhance its reputation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree or higher in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification: Current, valid state licensure as a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech-language pathologist.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty area is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a therapy-related field.
    • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency in quality improvement and risk management.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of therapy practices, standards, and regulations.
    • Understanding of healthcare administration and operational management.
  • Other Requirements: Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
    • Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments and technologies.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
