Description

Safe Communities is seeking a No Wrong Door Coordinator to join their team. The Hennepin County No Wrong Door Plan is Hennepin County's call to action to protect our children by combating juvenile sex trafficking in Hennepin County, ensuring that sexually exploited youth receive the help and services they need.


The No Wrong Door Coordinator acts as a liaison between systems, departments, and jurisdictions to make sure services are seamlessly delivered, parties are working together effectively, that the County Board approved No Wrong Door Plan (Download PDF reader) is implemented, and mandates are being followed. This position will also work closely with the Public Safety line of business.

Location and hours:

This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Human Services Building located at 525 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55415 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the possibility of trainings and meetings in the evenings and weekends. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:



  • Act as a coordinator between state, city, county, and community officials to provide the best and fluid trauma-informed services for sexually exploited youth; lead or participate in task forces, meetings, and committees.
  • Ensure appropriate referrals and coordination for comprehensive case management services are being provided for sexually exploited youth within the region.
  • Develop and conduct new, trauma-informed trainings and presentations on No Wrong Door, Safe Harbor and identifying and responding to the sexual exploitation of youth in Hennepin County
  • Partner with community organizations to raise public awareness within the community sectors that interact with sexually exploited youth to seek, identify, and provide safety for sexually exploited youth.
  • Provide input into the development of the Safe Harbor/No Wrong Door response protocols and procedures; pursue strategies that address the demand side of sexual exploitation.
  • Define, evaluate and oversee No Wrong Door's continuous performance measurement and strategic planning activities
  • Connect sexually exploited youth to services and resources.
  • Assist in budget preparation and analysis, such as forecast spending, approving expenditures.
  • Analyze current and proposed laws, rules, regulations, and relevant news stories.
  • Meet regularly and support contracted community providers, collaborate closely with other departments for shared contracts and the contract manager.


Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, social work, criminal justice, behavioral science, public administration or other field appropriate to the position and five years or more of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.
    • Nine years or more of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.

  • Experience:
    • With project management; leading and managing the goals and outcomes of projects in a community/political setting
    • With long-range strategic planning implementation for a public agency.
    • Working with people who have lived experiences in commercial sexual exploitation, chemical dependency, and homelessness as well as knowledge of the criminal justice system.
    • Working with sexually exploited youth or adults.
    • Working on multidisciplinary workgroups and management teams.
    • In project management; leading and managing the goals and outcomes of projects in a community/political setting.
    • Facilitating groups using participatory methods.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial sexual exploitation of youth and adults and broad understanding of the criminal justice system.
  • Understanding of justice issues as they relate to human trafficking.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; including public speaking.
  • Demonstrated ability as a change agent with a track record of positive results.
  • Ability to identify and work collaboratively with key stakeholders internally and externally.
