Job Summary

For those interested in Field Operations Associate role, then this is the perfect job for you. The Research Technician will work closely with the Field-Testing Lead and provide support for data collection, tissue sampling, small plot spray applications, pollinations, compliance auditing, and plot maintenance for corn and soybeans.

 

Job Description

• Support planting activities
• Assist in small plot spray applications.
• Illinois Pesticide Operator license or ability to obtain is required.
• Help in collecting tissue samples from corn and soybeans.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more at multiple sampling events throughout the field season.
• QC review of data collected from field experiments.
• Help with day-to-day activities directed by the Field-Testing Lead

 

Skills Required

• Agronomic experience
• Attention to detail that enables the conduct of high-quality experiments per required protocols
• Commitment to following strict data collection parameters.
• Effective communicator
• Will work closely with teams from different organizations within Client at the applicable facility.

 

Education/Training/Certifications

• We are ideally looking for individuals pursuing degrees in agriculture or another related science with an interest in agriculture or plant science or those looking to be active the agricultural industry. The Research Technician will be supervised by the local Field-Testing Lead.

 

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check.
• Safety
  • Work clothing requirement of employee-provided long pants and long-sleeved shirts while working in any field. This is not considered PPE, but work clothing, which the employee will need to provide and wear to work.
  • Must wear required & Client-provided PPE at all times.
  • Closed toe shoes required (or steel toes if designated by safety protocols).
• Worker Shift Start Time: AM - 08:00 AM
• Hours:
  • Typical hours will be Monday-Friday: 8 AM – 4:30 PM with half hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
  • Potential opportunity of overtime in peak seasons with possible weekend work.
  • Work is contingent on weather conditions and can result in days off when weather/growing conditions are not ideal or unsafe.
