Our team drives PLC’s mission by developing innovative curriculums, to deliver forward thinking programs to our students and strategic partners. The Executive Assistant will support the President, Director of Partnerships and Managing Director by providing pro-active, executive-level administrative support, to ensure tasks and activities are completed with timely execution. Being comfortable engaging with senior executives is imperative. However, having a commitment to understanding diversity, inclusion, and cultural competence when working with diverse populations is a must!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Plan and coordinate meetings, events and travel
  • Create correspondence and documents related to reports and presentations
  • Resolve issues, respond to inquiries within established parameters, and ensure the senior leadership members are made aware of time sensitive issues as they arise
  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness and performance in a fast paced and evolving environment
  • Engage with staff, guests, media, corporate partners, students and community members, among others in a professional and courteous manner
  • Foresee outcomes of requests made to the President and divert low priority inquiries using best judgment
  • Handle special projects for the President and other key leadership members as directed
  • Execute administrative responsibilities as assigned
  • Facilitate the objectives of the Senior Leadership team by scheduling meetings, establishing agendas, taking meeting minutes and conducting timely follow ups on outstanding action items
  • Work independently and be a self-starter
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality procedures

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (from an accredited institution) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years progressive experience in senior administrative roles
  • Creative mind and outside of the box thinker
  • Strong understanding of a start-up culture and courage to defend opinions
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving orientation
  • Must be proactive and be able to deal with confidential information
  • Ability to manage a large and constantly fluctuating workload
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability within a constantly changing environment
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure
  • Demonstrated high-level organizational skills, with the ability to troubleshoot independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment, tact, problem-solving skills and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an eye for detail
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, scheduling software and database management programs
  • 2+ years of experience with an Academic Institution
  • Familiarity with university/college structure and senior administration
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and travel as necessary
