Position Overview

Under general direction, serves as Agency-wide collaborative customer service resource and liaison for the Agency’s Upstate headquarters. Serves as Agency point of contact for licensing inquiries from the public, interpreting and explaining licensing policies, methods, and procedures. Ensures collaborations and communication between all Agency Sections and work units within the Agency’s Upstate headquarters. Directs the requisitioning and procurement of items to be utilized in the Agency’s Upstate headquarters. Serves as working supervisor. Assists in the planning and development of the Agency’s annual budget regarding supplies and equipment. Serves as emergency backup to the Chicago reception desk.

Job Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, serves as Agency-wide collaborative customer service resource and liaison for the Agency’s Upstate headquarters.

  • Serves as Agency point of contact for licensing inquiries from the public, interpreting and explaining licensing policies, methods, and procedures.

  • Ensures collaborations and communication between all Agency Sections and work units within the Agency’s Upstate headquarters.

  • Directs the requisitioning and procurement of items to be utilized in the Agency’s Upstate headquarters.

  • Serves as working supervisor.

  • Assists in the planning and development of the Agency’s annual budget regarding supplies and equipment.

  • Serves as emergency backup to the Chicago reception desk.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
  • Requires one year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
  • Specialized Skills: Requires two years of customer service experience, preferably in call centers or service centers handling a variety of customer service inquiries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least five years of customer service experience, as acquired in a call center, service center, or similar
  • Prefers at least four years of experience as a supervisor of a staff of two or more
  • Prefers at least four years of experience as an executive or manager overseeing a unit, program, or enterprise
  • Prefers at least three years of direct, in-person customer service experience
  • Prefers at least three years of customer service experience via phone or electronic communication

  • Requires the ability to travel

Education Degree

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration
