Finance Manager – Posting #23622

Position Summary:

Sea Mar is a mission-driven health and human services 501(c) non-profit organization serving Western Washington. This position is based in South Seattle. We are in search of a full-time Finance Manager to provide management and support for financial and operational systems with the goal to achieve reporting and performance improvements, efficiencies, and effectiveness. These duties may include both direction and coordination with Finance, Billing, Accounting, IT, and operations staff. 

Performance Requirements:

Financial Reporting

• Interpret and develop reports for financial planning and strategic initiatives
• Develop budgets and reporting tools for financial forecasting
• Oversee completion Medicare and Medicaid Cost reports as required
• Prepare and Review UDS reports as required
• Supervise completion of 990 for Sea Mar CHC and related entities
• Oversee financial aspects of grants, including budgeting and tracking

Data Analysis

• Manages and improves complex reporting systems
• Performs root cause analysis on discovered issues
• Builds queries and reports to better understand organizational data needs
• Has the ability to understand complex topics and explain to a broad group of multi-disciplinary professionals in an effective manner
• Must understand the more advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, formulas, macros etc.

Accounting

• Work with the Controller to create automated processes to improve revenue tracking from all lines of business
• Ensure all grants are being tracked appropriately, both revenue and expense, to make certain Sea Mar is compliant with the appropriate agencies
• Develop tools to integrate financial system data into effective financial and operational management reporting tools

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business/healthcare administration or related field
• Minimum of ten years’ experience in operational or general production management experience.  MBA or CPA preferred.  
• Database and spreadsheet expertise experience is required. 
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to perform statistical analysis and high-level analytical analysi s.

Reasoning Ability:

Must be able to manage compile, interpret, and analyze large volumes of information.  Must be able to reconcile and resolve differences and irregularities.  Requires excellent PC database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills, have the ability to analyze financial data, accurately process information, and understand complex transactions.
