The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th and the undergraduate 5th nationally by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. Job Summary

Perform advanced financial records maintenance and report preparation and reconciliation within the business area of an academic/research unit or non-academic department. Coordinate those activities with other campus units. Work may involve records, reports and proposals related to funding from various sources, budgeting, and accounting. This position will interact with on a consistent basis with: unit management, staff and co-workers This position typically will advise and counsel: unit financial/accounting staff This position may supervise: Assigned Staff (financial/accounting staff) Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Within an academic/research unit, develop and prepare financial data related to proposals, grants and contracts, general appropriations, endowments and other funds. Job Duty 2 -
Generate data for use in budget amendments and other budget related reporting. Job Duty 3 -
Collect, reconcile and audit monthly unit expense transactions. Job Duty 4 -
Process travel requests to include review for accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation. Job Duty 5 -
Review and/or process payroll, time documents and personnel action forms. Job Duty 6 -
Coordinate unit financial related actions with Institute financial units. Job Duty 7 -
Recommend changes to unit finance/accounting procedure and process as appropriate. Job Duty 8 -
Provide work related advice and direction to other unit finance/accounting personnel; may also supervise those personnel. Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned Responsibilities

  • Assists all faculty with preparation/submission for research proposals/grant requests;
  • Issue sub agreement and post award spending;
  • Prepare/develop proposal budget and assist with grant renewals and no-cost extensions;
  • Manage and reconciliation of state, sponsored, and GT foundation projects;
  • Process and manage Workday functions related to invoice payments and purchasing for SCI;
  • Prepare monthly budget amendments, EDRs, CPF, journal entries and supplemental payments;
  • Work closely with the Project Support Specialist,Sr in managing the biweekly HR/Time process along with many other student initiatives;
  • Management of budgets, financial controls, reporting, procurement and other financial related files and records;
  • Work closely with the SAO regarding the school's daily administrative and financial need in addition to implementing procedures to better serve the faculty, staff and students;
  • Assist with hiring, transfers, terminations, salary changes for Undergraduate Students and Graduate Teaching Assistant each semester;
  • Purchase Card (P-Card) Holder to manage and reconcile all P-Card transactions on a monthly basis;
  • Other assigned duties as needed.
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience Required Qualifications

  • Two to three (2 - 3) years of job-related experience.
Proposed Salary

Pay Information:

Salary Range: $46,704 - $63,518

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule:

Monday - Friday; On-campus

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge of and skill in applying general accounting principles and practices within a university business environment. Additionally required are attention to detail and accuracy and use of office and specialized accounting related computer applications.
