Focus, one of the most respected and prestigious personal training companies and institutes in New York City, is seeking a 30-hour-a-week Financial Aid and Administrative Coordinator. Prior experience is preferred, but not required, as we will teach any component of the job that a candidate is unfamiliar with.

The Financial Aid and Administrative Coordinator supports the Admissions Team and all aspects of Financial Aid, is extremely detail-oriented, loves helping people, and enjoys making positive changes in their lives. The coordinator will provide information and guidance to students through various forms of communication (email, phone, text, in-person, and virtually).

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • At least one year of experience working in an adminstrative office setting.
  • Experience in Higher Education Financial Aid a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and intra-personal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suites.

Responsibilities Include: We will teach any component of the job that a candidate is unfamiliar with, including:

  1. Assist with the overall Federal Student Aid program, including, but not limited to :
    1. Guide students through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
    2. Review Institutional Student Information Records (ISIR) for accuracy and collect additional information/make corrections as needed.
    3. Oversee payment plans and past due collections efforts.
    4. Provide  financial aid counseling, including review of Federal Student Aid Offers and Entrance/Exit Counseling.
    5. Oversee the organization of student Financial Aid files.
    6. Maintaining close communication with FPTI’s Title IV third-party servicer.
  2. Serve as a point of contact for the Veterans’ Education programs, including :
    1. Verifying students' eligibility for benefits.
    2. Ensuring completion of required VA forms.
    3. Maintaining the organization of student Veterans' Education files.
  3. Counsel students on additional payment options, including :
    1. Institutional payment plans.
    2. State Tuition Programs.
    3. 529 College Savings Plans.
    4. Private student loans and scholarships.
  4. Ensure accurate and timely posting of student payments and disbursements.
  5. Additional duties may be assigned based on the performance or needs of the school.
