GIS SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR

This position works from the Sedalia branch of CORE Electric Cooperative. This position does not work remotely.

CORE employees are required to work in a safe manner in accordance with regulatory standards and requirements.

HOURLY RATE: $38.66 - 52.87

Maintains the GIS Enterprise systems and data. Produces standard maps and spatial data using ArcGIS in support of engineering, operations, and planning projects. Converts GIS data to Engineering Analysis, Outage Management, and other various formats for use by other departments. Assists Engineering and Operations personnel with field data collection processes and technologies. Reviews GIS data for accuracy by applying established specifications.

Minimum Qualifications of Position: High school diploma or equivalent certificate required. Undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences, Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or GIS and 3 or more years of practical equivalent experience required. Two or more years of utility GIS experience desired. Proficient with Esri Desktop and Server applications and extensions. Competent with Relational Database technologies: SQL. Proficient with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Proficient with general office equipment. Must pass a background and drug screen according to CORE Electric Cooperative guidelines.

Knowledge and Skills :

Publishes GIS data to web map and feature services for distribution to company personnel, contractors, and the public. This includes minor development of custom web applications. Responsible for installation, deployment and maintenance of GIS server and web technologies. Works closely with IT personnel in the installation, networking, communication, and security of GIS back-office technologies including servers and databases.

Supports other company personnel in the use of GIS technologies and applications. Responds and communicates to the inquiries and needs of coworkers, customers, the public and other organizations. Assists in mentoring and training other GIS personnel. Plans, designs, implements, and documents new procedures in support of new workflows and GIS schema. Prepares and provides specialized and ad-hoc reports and data, performs data analysis, and performs field and office mapping utilizing ESRI products related to the electric transmission and distribution system. Performs complex research and analysis with a variety of data types; conveys results to GIS team members and other departments. Performs and assists other personnel in field data collection methods, processes, and use of technology tools. Uses GIS technology to record spatial data, assuring data quality and integrity, in pursuit of maintaining the enterprise GIS data.
