Job Overview

Handle day-to-day pre-award and post-award financial administration of specialized activities related to research grants. Major duties will include administrative, fiscal, grant, and general duties. Will provide recommendation and advice to DAAP Research and faculty on process related topics and conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as university financial and administrative policies. This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote work arrangement (a set schedule of on campus and work from home days each week) for applicants with a residence within OH/IN/KY. Hybrid work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies. Hybrid work will start after onboarding. Essential Functions

  • Assist faculty and staff with pre award management including but not limited to guidance on practices, drafting budget and budget justification preparation, reviewing award notices, routing proposals, and creating research contracts.
  • Assist faculty and staff with post award management including but not limited to guidance on practices, processing purchases and invoices, processing of financial transaction for federal, state, and private grants, contracts, and any other external funding sources, grant extensions, and hire/compensation.
  • Meet regularly with faculty and staff for expense reporting, reports, and transactions, for the full lifecycle of from start to close out for active research grants.
  • Create, maintain, and generate reports on active grant accounts according to the institute policies and individual grant agreements.
  • Close out grant accounts by reconciling accounts, compliance, and prepare final invoice and/or reports for closures.
  • Support leadership by drafting and implementing policies that reflect continuous oversight and review of sponsored project funds to ensure that all financial transactions are in full compliance with university policies and funding agency guidelines.
  • Work directly and collaboratively with the various offices of the college and university to fulfill pre-award and post-award grant administration.

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience

One (1) year grant and/or finance-related experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Grant administration with pre and/or post award management experience.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, and self-directed work ethic.
  • Proven experience in participating as a team member in a collaborative environment within a workforce across offices/departments.
  • Familiar knowledge with: Microsoft excel (pivot tables, v-look formulas), Kuali proposal submission system, SAP/UCFlex reporting system, PACE system, CONCUR travel and expense system, and SalesForce system.
