The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health Services has a full time vacancy for Home Visiting Family Engagement Lead.
SUMMARY:
To coordinate family engagement activities for NH Home Visiting programs. Includes outreach to un(der)served communities and populations within NH to engage them in home visiting services, and recruitment of enrolled participants to actively participate in the advisory and quality improvement activities of the program. May serve as an advisor to contracted agencies to champion parent leadership within Community Advisory Boards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides consultation and technical assistance to contracted home visiting programs, incorporating diverse parent and caregiver perspectives to strengthen the infrastructure of the NH Home Visiting Program.
Researches and analyzes state and national data to promote best practices working with parents, caregivers and families. This includes staying updated on relevant research.
Analyzes and evaluates New Hampshire-specific data to reach populations unserved or underserved by NH Home Visiting.
Reviews and evaluates service delivery and program outputs to ensure parent/caregiver/family voices are represented throughout the work of the program.
Champions initiatives to improve family engagement. Identifies and develops parent leaders, with a focus on including the perspectives of members from underrepresented and underserved groups. Collaborates with the Program Manager to evaluate program outcomes with this lens.
Cultivates relationships with internal and external stakeholders, networking with state and national associations, advocates, and academia, to improve program operations.
Serves as a subject matter expert and provides technical assistance, written guidance, and interpretation of policies and procedures to parents/families, contracted staff, and external stakeholders.
Plans and facilitates internal and external meetings and work groups supporting ongoing program operations. Presents at professional conferences as requested.
Supports the development of special project reports, administrative reports, and presentations as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in family studies, education, social work, public health, human services, or a related field. Each additional year of approved formal education or lived experience* may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Three years’ combined experience in home visiting, family support, parent advocacy, parent engagement or human services, serving in an official capacity as a parent advisor, peer mentor/support, parent advocacy council member, or lived experience as a participant in community, family support or prevention services such as home visiting. Each additional year of approved work or lived experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Valid New Hampshire driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Lived or professional experience in a parent advocacy or advisory group.
Competency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
Exceptional communication skills and experience serving as a project lead, providing direction to others.
