Position Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the HR Associate plays a crucial role within the SD&H HR Team, supporting departments within Student Development & Health, and contributing as an integral member of the Student Affairs Human Resources Team. This role is responsible for aiding in the administration of employment, compensation, payroll, benefits, and compliance actions for staff and student employees. Additionally, the HR Associate serves as a liaison between HR and new staff, conducts background checks, maintains records, conducts audits, oversees the performance evaluation cycle, and manages parking allocations.

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications - 1-2+ Years relevant experience in an HR and/or Payroll function. (Required)
- Experience working in higher education. (Preferred)
- General working knowledge of HR and payroll processes, policies, and procedures (Required)
- Ability to understand and interpret University policies, labor contracts and their application (Required)
- Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills. (Required)
- Demonstrated judgment and decision-making skills; verbal, written and active listening communication skills. Uses interpersonal skill and service orientation skills in interactions with customers and colleagues. Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task (Required)
- Ability to establish and maintain trusting, cooperative working relationships with Student Affairs HR Staff, Campus Human Resources Staff, Central Resource Unit, management, officials, and employee representatives. (Required)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information related to pay, personnel status, medical information and disciplinary actions. (Required)
- Ability to acquire working knowledge of University HR Systems (UCPath, JDXpert, iCIMS, Bruin Service Now, etc.) (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations - Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training (Required)
