About the Role:
As an Industrial Planner, you will ensure optimal scheduling of short-term production & materials for the Bloomington plant to meet the production budget in the allotted periods and volumes coordinated with the Commercial Market Unit. You will ensure in stock of all necessary packaging related to semi-finished and finished product codes. This position is a combination of local planning/scheduling and materials planning.
Main Responsibilities:
- Local Production Scheduling: prepare the following weeks production schedule; review inventory levels in SAP and assess potential discrepancies; review the plans feasibility based on line capacity, manpower and shift standards; enter plans into information system; receive weekly requests from business units/central planning (APO)
- Schedule Adjustments and Variances: review production requirements week to week to determine any increases/decreases in production; manage changes to production schedule; monitor ‘request variance analysis’ spreadsheet; daily/weekly analysis of attainment
- Quality and Food Safety: ensure all program requirements/standards are adhered to
- Inventory: maintain inventory levels in target with department and group KPIs; validate packaging and inventory adjustments; investigate adjustments and track and measure stock outs
- Delivery of Materials: review production forecast weekly and prepare purchase requisition for materials required to meet production needs; scheduling packaging with suppliers weekly call off; ensure ordered materials (packaging) arrive within time periods and quantities agreed upon; establish and monitor warehouse inventory levels (packaging)
- Supplier Relationship: develop and maintain strong positive rapport with all suppliers; responsible for capacity planning in relation to molds at vendor sites; responsible for forecasting of packaging
- Warehouse Support: support warehouse staff on incoming shipments; ensure scheduled lines and PO’s are open and accurate for receiving; support capacity planning with detailed analysis of future material needs
Who we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4-7 years of relevant work experience
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- Competency using ERP, MRP and material planning software packages and Production Scheduling software and systems (SAP/APO)
- Solid understanding of forecasting and inventory management
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining a strong sense of urgency and focus on service
