Organization Overview

Youth Research Inc. (YRI) assists the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and its state and local partners in developing, administering, and delivering training and learning opportunities and related activities for the full range of services for which OCFS is responsible, such as child welfare, juvenile justice, childcare, adoption, and foster care, youth development, and child and adult protective services.

Duties

The Information Systems Analyst primary roles are to implement Cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid system applications. Administration of hybrid infrastructure, support database design, development of new applications, and/or research of modern technologies that will satisfactorily meet requirements of Youth Research Inc.'s technical demands.

  • Maintaining several existing Microsoft and multivendor databases/programs and creating new databases.
  • Developing queries and reports in Excel, SharePoint, and Azure.
  • Designing and creating data driven web page interfaces for internal and external users to interact with production databases, and other unstructured data.
  • Coding application components, applets, and scripts to aid data management and administration.
  • Development of programming projects and systems designed to automate data collection, reporting, and analysis processes throughout the organization.
  • Developing new and maintaining existing web applications with MadCap Flare.
  • Testing of the Development and Production environments of the DCCS02 project; working with proprietary software - MadCap Flare - and ensuring updates are performed at least monthly.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the CCTA, CCFS, CCFS2 and FAMS systems.
  • Ensuring appropriate security for all projects, environments, cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Conducting research and developing information for software updates and new applications.
  • Preparing reports and documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in computer science or another related field.
  • Two or more years of experience programming and developing web applications and relational databases using a variety of languages and technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, Java Script, Visual Basic, Team Foundation, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of Agile and Scrum methodology, TSQL and Microsoft SQL server, cloud computing, preferable utilizing Microsoft Azure.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and manage projects to a successful completion.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, One Drive, Azure AD, and Active Directory.
  • Experience providing systems support to end users.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in partnership with the agencies of New York State.

Additional Information

A valid NYS Driver's license is required.
