Job Description - Inventory Control Lead

The Inventory Control Lead will oversee and coordinate all aspects of inventory management on site. Acting as a key liaison between the warehouse and customer service departments, the Inventory Control Lead ensures the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, supervises inventory control activities, and implements best practices to optimize inventory operations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve complex problems efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervision and Coordination:
    • Supervise and oversee all inventory control activities within the site.
    • Coordinate and manage cycle counts as designated by relevant management.
    • Lead, train, and mentor inventory control staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
  2. Inventory Accuracy and Management:
    • Investigate and resolve stock level discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    • Work closely with management to advise on stock level discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
    • Ensure all items in the warehouse are properly labeled and address any labeling issues promptly.
  3. Policy and System Administration:
    • Administer and enforce policy changes regarding inventory within the company.
    • Advise management on issues within the inventory control modules of the company’s ERP system.
    • Support year-end inventory processes, including training employees and assisting during counting and auditing processes.
  4. Cross-Functional Liaison:
    • Act as a primary liaison between the warehouse and customer service departments to ensure smooth communication and resolve any inventory-related issues.
    • Collaborate with various departments to aid with special projects and support company-wide initiatives.
  5. Maintenance and Reporting:
    • Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity across sites.
    • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned to support the overall efficiency of the inventory management function.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work 5 days a week, 6:30 am - 3:30 pm.
  • Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with strong Excel skills preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with inventory control software applications is highly desirable.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory control, including cycle counting, is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods of time (varied based on daily tasks).
  • Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use a keyboard and computer monitor for prolonged periods.
