Job Description - Inventory Control Planner Associate

Summary

This position will be responsible to Implement physical inventory product changes across all clean rooms. Build the infrastructure (racking) for necessary storage of hospital supplies in all clean, medication and nourishment rooms. Ensure all bin locations are labeled appropriately and are supply racks are all identified appropriately. .

Responsibilities*

  • Support the inventory management system by building the needed supply carts to support PAR levels and maintaining current PAR locations.
  • With guidance from the Inventory Control Manager and Supply Chain Analyst develop inventory management plans to support both clinical and operational teams
  • Help manage current and potential product shortages, develop, and execute recovery, advise interested parties of status and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate material movement between Transactional Purchasing, vendors, warehouse operations, and clinical areas for availability of medical supplies
  • Utilize ERP (PeopleSoft) to ensure that data is accurate and up to date.
  • Provide input for new item setup and help manage inventory accuracy.
  • Thoroughly review, familiarize, and understand existing ERP structure as well as the physical products.
  • Key participant in developing and managing PAR management policies and procedures.
  • Perform the conversion of items in a clean room and the arrangement of supplies in a clean room.

Skills You Have

What will make you stand out?

  • Inventory control experience in a health care environment.
  • Experience working with clinical personnel and medical products.
  • Demonstrated experience with supply chain, purchasing and inventory control and planning as a main job function.

Required Qualifications*

  • 0-2 years of experience in position.
  • Have some experience managing the physical supply of goods.
  • Proficiency with Excel, and a strong aptitude for technology and data analytics.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to work on a multidisciplinary team in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team and individually with a hands-on approach.

Days: Monday -Friday
Hours:40
Time: 6:00am to 2:30pm

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
