Full Job Description

  • Affordable Limousine LLC is seeking an Onsite IT Administrative Specialist to oversee our IT infrastructure and continue the outstanding work of our departing administrator. As an IT Administrative Specialist, you will be required to manage a broad spectrum of responsibilities including: software and hardware maintenance/support, lightweight network administration, user and permissions control, basic website maintenance and development, and all other IT functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work largely in a self-directed capacity and enjoy being the leader of your own department. This is considered a leadership position that will require a great deal of responsibility as you will be the only IT employee, after a training and transition period. Please note that this position is an evolving role, offering significant opportunities for growth and the fulfilling experience of playing a pivotal role in scaling the company, and developing the IT landscape. Essential Job Functions

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with other non-technical team members to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Software and OS troubleshooting, e.g. resource monitoring, memory consumption, identifying misconfigurations, etc.
  • Oversee all hardware including computers, printers, mobile devices, iPads, vehicle based Wi-Fi routers, vehicle-based cameras and GPS systems, exterior and interior electronic lock systems, and vehicle tollway transponders.
  • Manage IT-related purchasing, maintain an accurate inventory, and manage the IT budget.
  • Create, update, and manage user accounts and reset passwords using Active Directory Users and Computers (RSAT). Collaborate with the network engineer to ensure compliance with AD user limits and network policies.
  • Use additional RSAT tools for DHCP configurations and IP address reservations.
  • Manage access/permissions/users, and account management, for company-specific software and cloud platforms, including but not limited to: Google Workspace/Admin, Samsara, Fleetio, LimoAnywhere, SpiceWorks Help Desk, NetCloud by Cradlepoint, T-Mobile for Business, Hexnode MDM, Apple Business Manager, SimpleAccess, Jive/GoToConnect, and potentially others.
  • Minimal management of a web server environment (e.g. Linux-based server, Apache, Joomla! a Content Management System similar to Wordpress, MySQL, Deployed to Linode)
  • Recommend new methods and procedures for streamlining our systems.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation for our various systems and procedures and develop new documentation.
  • Helps support an equitable, safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Required Education, Training, and Experience

  • Minimum: Associate degree with 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Preferred: Additional training as evidenced by certifications: A+, NET+, MSP, etc. and/or work experience.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT Support, IT Administration, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to interact positively and objectively with coworkers, end-users, and contractors with varying levels of technical knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent software and OS troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer/networking technologies and operating systems (Microsoft Windows 10 and 11).
  • Good working knowledge of applications, tools, systems, and/or database technologies.
  • Ability to work independently by determining priorities accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Certification in relevant IT areas (e.g. CompTIA A+, MCP).
  • Experience in managing web environments is a plus (e.g. Linux-based servers, Apache, Joomla! CMS, MySQL).
  • Experience with software development, internal application development, consuming APIs, Git source control, and/or working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, is a huge plus.
