IT Security Specialist

MW Partners is currently seeking a IT Security Specialist to work for our client who is a global leader in the aerospace, defense and security markets.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Review and dissect security scan results and coordinate responses to the Government with appropriate data center personnel
• Perform, prepare, and ensure that the IT environment meets security audit requirements as defined
• Manage mitigation and remediation of security vulnerabilities
• Provide support to security incidents and coordinate with technical staff
• Schedule meetings to plan mitigation strategies
• Assist in system enhancements/bug fixes tied to security
• Create patching schedules and coordinate resource allocation
• Review Information Security Vulnerability Management (ISVM) to determine which apply to the environment
• Provide security reports to the Prime contractor or Government
• Develop and maintain reporting on information security strategy, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering; Computer Software Engineering or other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics related disciplines
• Minimum 8 years' experience in Information Assurance, Information Systems Security, and/or Cyber Security
• Experience in information security vulnerabilities and remediation
• Experience with AIX, Suse, and Windows Operating Systems
• Experience using diagnostic tools
• Understanding of firewalls, proxies, security information, event management antivirus, and intrusion detection and prevention system concepts.
• Strong communicator at all levels of an organization
• Team oriented, but can work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to have:

• IT Certification (e.g., Network+, Security+, CISSP)
• Suse Linux and/or AIX Administrator
