Logistics Team Lead

Butterfly Staffing is looking for a skilled and experienced logistics professional for this Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in truck brokerage to lead and mentor a team of Logistics Coordinators. This role demands exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a team of Logistics Coordinators to meet and exceed individual, team, and company objectives.
• Negotiate rates with shippers and carriers to secure competitive pricing.
• Manage the planning and execution of transportation and distribution activities, ensuring coordination with customers and carriers, tracking shipments, and resolving any issues.
• Assess the performance of logistics coordinators, offering constructive feedback and guidance for ongoing improvement.
• Drive business growth by developing new opportunities with existing and potential customers.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to introduce innovative logistics solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and carriers.
• Accurately record shipment data and manage customer invoicing within the Transportation Management Software.
• Collaborate with internal teams to fulfill customer requirements efficiently.
• Recruit and onboard carriers.
• Coordinate activities with various departments, including account management and collections.
• Handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Conduct regular audits to identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in logistics operations, with a preference for supervisory roles.
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics and truck brokerage.
• Minimum 1 year of management experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills suitable for a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage conflicts effectively.
• At least 1 year of experience in office, administrative, and customer service roles.
• Familiarity with logistics software and systems.
• Ability to lead, train, and develop team members.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Solid computer skills.
• Basic understanding of accounting and invoicing practices.
