Machine Mechanic

Staff Management Group is seeking a Machine Mechanic for our client in Totowa, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements before applying for this position.

Schedule

• 1st Shift: 7AM - 3:30PM
• Monday - Friday

Pay Rate

• $27 - $30.50 / hour

Summary

The Machine Mechanic is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment.

Job Description

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues in machinery 
• Monitor devices to identify sources of trouble and ensure optimal performance. 
• Examine parts and components to detect imperfections and assess changes in dimensional requirements. 
• Install, adjust, maintain, and replace functional parts of devices and control instruments, ensuring all systems operate efficiently. 
• Set up and operate production equipment, including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools. 
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on plant equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. 
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed. 
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. 

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting, including: 
• Experience using a variety of hand tools for maintenance tasks. 
• Proven ability to perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment failure. 
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components. 
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. 
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management. 
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve common goals. 
• Must be bilingual (English AND Spanish)
