Job Description - Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

You will work on-site at one of the largest manufacturing facilities with over 800 employees, reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager. You will provide leadership to plant refrigeration department of 12 employees. You will oversee the maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in manufacturing operations. You will eliminate all causes of failure and ensure full useful life along with daily maintenance completed by operating personnel. You will schedule maintenance, and installation to ensure production operations. You will inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for plant facilities, utilities and operations to reduce downtime and assure peak plant efficiencies.

  • You will participate in activities for Performance System Planned Maintenance Pillar.

  • You will prepare and operate within established maintenance operating budget and monitor departmental expenditures.

  • You will complete the capital plan to include all engineering design and project management, working with both internal and external resources.

  • You will be acquainted with local/state/federal environmental regulations and ensure compliance with all operational permits.

  • You will oversee the completion of work through review of reports, frequent site inspections and conferences with operations and vendors regarding electrical & plumbing equipment, ammonia systems, HVAC systems, electric motors, ventilating fans, air conditioning and electrical control units.

  • Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related technical field

  • Ammonia Experience and Utilities background

  • 3+ years of experience in food plant maintenance.

  • You will have complete understanding of PLC and logic controls for high speed operating equipment.

  • Prior experience using production environment SAP.

  • Experience in project management and facilities administration with demonstrated ability to manage projects and personnel.

  • Must have experience managing the construction of complex projects.

  • You will lead teams and accomplish goals using several resources. Additional .

Physical Requirements

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are required to talk and hear. You are frequently required to stand and walk. You are occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. You must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. You will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
