Department Overview:

Operational Resilience is the ability for TD to continue to deliver, and rapidly recover, essential services through business disruption events, whether internal or external. As an independent team within the Risk Management group, Operational Resilience works with business units and corporate partners to ensure ongoing management of operational risks across TD Bank Group. The Manager, Group Risk (Operational Resilience) will be part of the Operational Resilience program team and report directly to the Senior Manager – Governance, Reporting, and Technology. This position is a global role based in USA , that will be accountable for supporting the rollout and execution of Operational Resilience program, in collaboration with business, technology, and project partners. The role will support implementation of a software solution to enhance Operational Resilience capabilities. The role will require the ability to thrive within an environment of ambiguity, work independently, but also collaborate with team members and business partners. We are looking for a candidate eager to work within a growing team environment and proactively contribute to the long-term success of the program.

Job Requirements:

+ Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position

+ Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or

+ 7+ years relevant experience

+ Advanced knowledge of multiple risk management disciplines, strategies, regulations, controls, operating environment, consulting principles, procedures and processes

+ Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations and mitigation

+ Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends

+ Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program / project activities to ensure completion of initiatives

+ Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide trusted and reliable advice to senior leadership

+ Skill in talent development and performance management

+ Skill in preparing and managing budgets and resource allocation

+ Ability to make an impact, influence, and achieve results with effective negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills

+ Skill in using computer applications including MS Office

+ Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form

+ Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions

+ Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently

+ Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions

+ Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

Job Details:

The Manager Group Risk leads and develops a team of Risk professionals who provide oversight, advisory services and act as an oversight function related to TD’s enterprise/operational Risk programs. Acts as a thought leader for all risk-related activities. May also oversee a team of specialized project support or services within Risk Management. Provides effective challenge, oversight, and risk intelligence behaviors and outcomes, while operating within the Bank’s risk appetite.

+ Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

+ Leads and manages a sizeable team of professionals and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope, while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project/initiative success and achieve business results

+ Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management and executives

+ Ensures an integrated approach with other business areas, broader organization, and enterprise as appropriate
