MANAGER, SYSTEMS, DATABASE, AND CLOUD ADMINISTRATION

 

The Opportunity

Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our manager of systems, database, and cloud administration position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The manager of systems, database, and cloud administration is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, maintenance and optimization of company’s IT infrastructure and managing the systems, database, and cloud administration teams. The role requires use of technical knowledge, leadership skills, project planning and effective communication. The manager is also responsible for ensuring company policies and guidelines compliance. The manager coordinates with 3 rd party providers, including outsourced services, hardware and software providers, and suppliers. Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman, the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brands.

May include:

  • Lead, mentor and support a team of system administration, database administrators and cloud administrators.
  • Provide guidance, set performance objectives, conduct performance reviews, and foster professional growth with direct reports.
  • Oversee the processes of issue resolution and change management ensuring tickets and Request for Change (RFCs) are logged, prioritized, assigned, and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage IT Infrastructure projects to ensure that projects and department goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. 
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop technology strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Analyzes on-premises and cloud server environments and recommends upgrades and changes; assesses organization’s current and future server needs. 
  • Makes formal recommendations regarding tools, techniques, and methodologies
  • Manage the development of solutions for application design and IT infrastructure components
  • Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure regular and effective monitoring of security, performance and capacity metrics for technology solutions
  • Ensure proper processing of Legal hold requests
  • Maintain controls and documentation to support server-related SOX policies and procedures 
  • Manages the on-premises and cloud server backup process, ensuring systems are properly backed up according to established backup policies
  • Manage the application of monthly security patches to servers
  • Coordinate with 3 rd party providers, including outsourced services, hardware and software providers, and suppliers
  • Stays up to date with the latest technologies in the IT industry
  • Adhere to departmental practices on in-person attendance, including day-to-day functions such as meetings and other activities
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

  • Ensures work is aligned with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision 
  • Accountable for the implementation of policies, processes, and procedures
  • Makes decisions and problem-solving guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance from Senior Manager/Director
  • Works on difficult to moderately complex issues and projects 
  • Provides guidance and training to subordinates
  • Has authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance goals, and recommend termination=
  • Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Platform, including Azure, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Office.
  • Knowledge of basic IT technologies and office tools (i.e., operating systems, network devices, software development, architecture, etc.).
  • Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with support of Windows Operating Systems, SQL Server, and Active Directory.

Experience:

  • 10+ years in related field
  • 5+ years in a leadership position

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or a related field preferred
