Middle School Art Teacher

Job Title: MS Art Teacher.
Reports to: School Director.

Core Accountabilities: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Art Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will inspire and nurture students' creativity and artistic skills, while fostering an appreciation for the visual arts. The Middle School Art Teacher will develop and implement an engaging curriculum that encourages self-expression, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of art in various cultural and historical contexts. Key Outputs/Results:

• Develop and deliver an engaging, standards-based art curriculum for middle school students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of student.
• Provide instruction in various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.
• Integrate art history and appreciation into the curriculum, exposing students to a wide range of artists and styles.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success and school initiatives.
• Organize and participate in school art shows, exhibitions, and other events that showcase student work.
• Maintain a well-organized and safe art studio, managing materials and supplies effectively.
• Stay current with developments in art education and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge:

• Deep understanding of Art concepts.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Art, or related field.
• Valid teaching certification/license in North Carolina preferred.
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a charter school or diverse educational setting.
