Responsibilities

Scope of Work

 

This position is to ensure the security, stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems networks that support the Gaylor business functions. The Network Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. 

 

This position is primarily based out of the corporate office in Indianapolis, Indiana, and has regularly recurring responsibilities at branch offices and other remote sites.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assure network security is maintained.
  • Collaborate with Information Services team members to ensure smooth and reliable operation of the network environment for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Work with management team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve network and network related systems issues.
  • Assist in designing and implementing data centers and server rooms, including HVAC control, environmental alarms, power requirements, and access restrictions.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of network resources to meet business demands.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed network systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Conduct research on networking equipment, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Enforces change control process to ensure changes to production environments are well tested, planned, communicated, and documented.
  • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Provides cybersecurity education and training to the company
  • Closely monitors the cybersecurity environment and make the necessary recommendations and updates to the systems.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of documentable experience as a network administrator or engineer.
  • Cisco CCNA preferred.
  •  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • 3+ years of Cisco network security devices such as Firewalls
  • Working knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and related protocols
  • Administrative experience with the following software:
    • Citrix (Server Farm)
    • VMWare virtualiation
    • Dexter + Cheney Spectrum
    • Trimble Accubid
    • Microsoft CRM
    • Microsoft Office 365
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
