OPS Government Operations Consultant I (Fire Program Assistant) (37971438)

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and well-organized individual to provide prescribed fire program support for the Division of Recreation and Parks. Florida State Parks span the entire state with 175 state parks and trails, the only state park system in the United States to be recognized four times with the gold medal award. Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Performing clerical data entry; preparing, uploading, and reviewing project documents. Assists with procurement and financial tracking (database entry) for statewide equipment purchases managed by BNCR and documenting project costs and status updates for prescribed fire equipment procurement. Performs other related duties as required. Occasional travel may be possible; basic fire training may be provided for interested individuals with a chance to assist with the implementation of prescribed fire. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Office procedures and practices.
  • Personal computers.
  • Technical or business writing.

 

Skilled in:

  • Windows Office Suite especially Office 365, Microsoft Word and Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook.
  • Adobe Acrobat.
  • Internet and online databases.
  • Online training and meeting platforms

 

  Ability to:

  • Perform electronic filing.
  • Prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
  • Operate and maintain office equipment.
  • Follow standard purchasing protocols including documentation and basic tracking.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One-year experience in state procurement and contract management field preferred

  • Valid driver license
