Acara Solutions is seeking a Payroll/benefits Specialist to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in Tolleson AZ
- Manage payroll and benefits comprehensively, handling calculations, deductions, new hires, and terminations while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefit records and generate timely reports.
- Address employee queries on payroll, benefits, taxes, and compensation discrepancies.
- Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, staying updated on changes and adjusting systems accordingly.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams for accurate payroll processing.
- Support ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.
- Implement new or updated benefits programs, collect employee data, and communicate changes promptly.
- Administer employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, life insurance, and 401(k) plans.
- Manage FMLA, workers' compensation, and other leave programs ensuring legal compliance.
- Verify monthly benefits premiums and track related costs and claim activities.
- Prepare and file benefits-related paperwork with governmental entities.
- Provide necessary reports for billing charges and support financial reporting as required.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
- 4 years minimum of experience in payroll administration
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Experience with payroll processing software and familiarity with payroll taxes and regulations
- Excellent communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with employees about payroll and benefits
- Experience with HRIS systems and accounting software is a plus
- Knowledge of federal and state labor and tax laws
- Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws governing compensation.
