The People Operations Coordinator is a key role within the HR department, acting as the first point of contact for employees and ensuring smooth HR operations. This position covers a wide range of responsibilities, including managing employee inquiries, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and assisting in the administration of benefits. The coordinator is essential in maintaining accurate employee records, facilitating HR communications, and executing wellness initiatives. By providing vital support to both employees and the HR team, the People Operations Coordinator helps foster a positive work environment and effective HR service delivery. Additionally, this role involves primarily engaging with team members via ticket system, email, chat, and phone, ensuring timely responses within defined SLA timeframes to support a multi-unit retail operation

  • Manage and triage incoming HR-related calls and tickets, ensuring timely and accurate assignment and/or resolution.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing routine HR questions related to policies, procedures, and benefits via phone and ticketing system.
  • Assist in the onboarding process, including acting as a backup for new hire orientation and onboarding paperwork.
  • Facilitate offboarding procedures for departing employees.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • File employee documents and maintain employee personnel file.
  • Generate reports from HR Information systems as needed.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment and changes.
  • Help execute wellness/benefit events and activities in coordination with the benefits department.
  • Provide general administrative support to the People Operations team, including coordinating meetings, preparing documents, and other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other HR Information Systems. UKG experience is a plus.
  • Experience with phone support and ticketing systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
