Job Description - Postal Operator

    • NJM Insurance Group has a Postal Operator position available in their West Trenton, NJ location. The Postal Operator is responsible for operating various mail processing equipment which can entail multiple machines at one time. An awareness of job priorities, postal schedules and postage parameters is essential. Has the ability to work independently but also in a team environment when needed. Individual works with minimal supervision.

    NJM Insurance Group has a Postal Operator position available in their West Trenton, NJ location. The Postal Operator is responsible for operating various mail processing equipment which can entail multiple machines at one time. An awareness of job priorities, postal schedules and postage parameters is essential. Has the ability to work independently but also in a team environment when needed. Individual works with minimal supervision.

    Hours: 8:00am - 4:15pm.

    Salary Range: $37,761- $47,604 (Commensurate with experience)

    • Completes and updates appropriate reports for every production job processed on the Postal Section equipment. Completes postal reports in compliance with USPS regulations. Provides signoff on Gunther Worksheets to confirm the assembly job was set up and assembled as expected. Maintains productivity reports and quality control sheets.
    • Coordinates an efficient workflow with coworkers and Management team. Ensures that all jobs are completed timely and in order of importance as assigned. Returns mail deemed undeliverable or damaged during processing to the proper recipient daily. Transports mail cages to and from the loading dock. Monitors outgoing mail pieces to validate correct setup, readability, format and barcodes to ensure NJM and USPS standards and requirements are met.
    • Conducts and documents quality spot checks of the documents during assembly and processing to ensure accuracy throughout the entire job. Adheres to all safety standards for operation of equipment and movement of materials. Adheres to expectations of cooperation, teamwork, flexibility, professional conduct, appearance and attendance. Operates in a safe and efficient manner the various Postal Section equipment to assemble, process and sort the outgoing mail based on documented requirements.
    • Utilizes learned skills on the Postal equipment to provide coverage as needed. Communicates all issues and requests that may not be filled. Maintains a sufficient inventory of materials and supplies to minimize workflow interruptions. Keeps a neat and organized workspace. Performs light maintenance on the equipment as needed. Advises service support and technicians when their assistance is needed. Troubleshoots equipment errors as needed.
