Job Description - Postdoctoral Researcher - Fast Hire

This position is for a Postdoctoral Researcher that is interested in translational research for inherited retinal degenerations. Research will include evaluating gene editing approaches in human stem cells and human retinal organoids. The postdoc will be responsible for grant writing, manuscript writing and thorough experimental execution with scientific rigor.

Grant writing – Applicant will submit a grant that fits the scope of their research and the stage of their career.

 

Manuscript writing – Applicant will submit a publication summarizing their research.

 

Applicant will manage and execute all experiments associated with their research project. The research project available consists of evaluating gene editing approaches in human stem cells and human retinal organoids. Experience working with iPSCs is preferred.

 

Applicant will perform necessary administrative paperwork to facilitate their research. This may include ordering supplies, regulatory approvals, etc

 

Ph.D. in Gene Therapy, Retinal Degeneration, or related field.

 

0-3 years of relevant experience.

 

Detail-oriented and meticulous in all aspects of work. Requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication skills with the public as well as with physicians/researchers, and exceptional database management abilities. Strong follow-through skills and ability to proactively identify and solve problems. Demonstrated innovation, initiative, and problem-solving skills are imperative. Ability to work well independently and multi-task is critical. The ability to work well with team members is essential. Familiarity with research design, statistics, and use of computers for research is preferred. Working knowledge of computer software including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Photoshop is desired. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good time management skills and attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to serve as a positive and professional role model. 

 

Must have demonstrated record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance in past and present.

PhD thesis included research on retinal degeneration is preferred. 

 

Retinal imaging, ERG, OKT, retinal tissue handling experiencce is preferred.
