Responsibilities :
- Provides operational and project management support to Preclinical Development EVP and preclinical functional areas (Pharmacology/Virology, Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, Toxicology)
- Nonclinical study program management (tracking progress of study, data, reports; uploading data to internal data management system)
- Obtains study proposals/quotes from CROs or academic labs, as appropriate
- Tracks progress and payment of invoices
- Interacts with finance personnel as needed to review the status of/confirm payments for studies
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional internal/external teams (including internal scientists, legal, and finance leads) and provides timely project support
- Ensures effective, accurate and timely communication across internal and external teams
- Enables and builds effective relationships to influence and gain cooperation of others
- Contributes ideas for process improvement, and, with guidance, facilitates development and implementation of solutions, tools or mechanisms to resolve the issue
- Other miscellaneous operational activities as needed
Requirements :
- BS/MS degree in life sciences or related scientific discipline is preferred
- 2+ years of related R&D operational support and/or project management experience
- Experience in outsourcing, managing external CROs and academic collaborations, including arranging contracts and tracking budgets, is preferred
- Strong multi-tasking ability
- Detail-oriented and having exceptional organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and team-based environment
- Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills
- Exhibits high degree of integrity and professionalism when interacting with external investigators and vendors
- Entrepreneurial and enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative and resourceful small company environment
