Job Description - Pricing Administrator

Job Title: Pricing Administrator
Company: Triad Technologies
Location: Vandalia, OH Position Overview
The Pricing Administrator is responsible for maintaining and updating Triad’s information system for pricing, performing margin analysis, and responding to pricing qualifications and requests for information.  
 
  • Works with IT to implement process improvements for inputting and extracting customer data within the ERP system.
  • Assists with data migration and pricing setup for acquired companies.  Cleanses the data of errors and tests the system to identify any conversion issues.
  • Performs scheduled system clean-up activities to optimize end user efficiency. Representative activities include creating and/or updating pricing and product catalogs; verifying the accuracy of rebates and expiration dates for special pricing.
  • Research competitor pricing schemes and participate in market analysis studies and the development of pricing models. 
  • Investigates pricing histories and rationalization; collects and analyzes data; and consults with internal team members as part of the decision-making process for determining profit margin targets. 
  • Serves as a cross functional resource for internal team members and assists with coordinating the exchange of information, end-user support, and the escalation of technical issues to the appropriate support team. 
  • May provide periodic training to sales representatives, customer service representatives (CSRs) and retail service specialists.
  • Receives price qualifications from the sales team and Parker Stores; verifies requests comply with pricing policy parameters and inputs approved reductions into the system. Discusses opportunities that exceed size and gross margin parameters with the Pricing Manager and seeks approval for requests that exceed decision making authority.
  • Establishes and maintains the accuracy of the Epicor/Prophet 21 pricing database including customer types/sizes, product families, core product status, discount multipliers, contract schedules and price pages.
  • Sets up and maintains supplier pricing folders and updates customer specific price pages in Epicor/Prophet 21 with recommended pricing levels, vendor rebates and vendor special pricing agreements.
  • Reviews new parts entered into the system by sales and verifies they are correctly categorized. Updates and corrects any inaccurate information.
  • Reviews and/or assists with new customer set-up reports and verifies the accuracy of assigned classifications in the system.
  • Reviews error report line items to determine basis for rebate denials. Investigates the validity of the denial, creates reconciliation reports, and resubmits the rebate request with updated information.
  • Inputs major price exceptions from standard pricing in the system and updates customer price pages and/or makes batch changes.
  • Resolves system issues with out-of-date supplier information related to system pricing, quantity discounts and/or costing inaccuracies. 
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or three to five years related experience.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as percent­ages, ratios, proportions, probability, and statistical inference to practical situations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to prepare routine correspondence and reports.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, groups of managers, and other employees in the organization.
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (intermediate to advance excel preferred) and Epicor/Prophet 21 System is preferred.
  • Must be technically competent, well organized, and confident enough to handle occasional pricing objections.
