This position performs administrative and tech nical duties in support of the Police D epartment's records management operations.
Typical work hours are 7a-5p (3) days per week.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Process incoming police reports, summons, warrant applications, fingerprint cards and lab results.
- Maintain, scan and track open, closed, pending and archived records.
- Utilize Case Net in order to track active cases and provide case disposition information.
- Court appearances as mandated to provide credible testimony in muni, state and federal court.
- Prepare Racial Profiling reports and statistics on monthly and yearly basis to Federal Agencies.
- Research and release criminal/non-criminal reports when requested as mandated by Sunshine Law.
- Criminal Background Checks provided to general public in accordance with Missouri State Statutes.
- Submit electronic monthly and yearly STARS reports to Jefferson City DOR.
- Reproduction and maintaining records of SD cards, CD's, DVD's, audio/video logs.
- DWITS and CIT entry to REJIS database.
- Process Animal Releases for Animal Control.
- Appropriate billing/invoicing to outside entities for research, reproduction of records.
- Commissioned Notary Public.
- Receptionist to greet general public, answer phones, enter calls for service into CAD system.
- Process applicants for Chaplains Assistance Program.
- Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Ability to identify and prioritize confidential information.
- Knowledge of Law Enforcement Terminology
- Ability to obtain MULES certification.
- Knowledge of operation of CAD and telephone system
- Knowledge of city streets and geography
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws
- Knowledge of the use of office equipment such as copier, fax machine, computer
- Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports
- Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs such as OMNIGO, INCODE, MULES,CASENET, REJIS,OASIS
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Proficient in dealing with public
- Proficient in decision-making and problem solving
- Ability to provide credible court testimony.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
