As our Recruiter, you will oversee all aspects of our internal recruitment process and direct any external recruitment partnerships when applicable. You will partner with the People Operations Leaders and respective hiring managers to direct the recruiting strategy, aligning business needs and recruiting to ensure we identify and align top talent to the correct teams and roles. You will maintain and establish efficient processes to ensure timely sourcing, top-notch communication, and unmatched service to our candidates and people leaders. Your expertise and recruitment knowledge will be heavily relied on to understand the talent market better, help Velocity Risk stay competitive, and remain an employer of choice.

Serving as a key representative of the Velocity Risk brand, you will be expected to convey the culture and essence of Velocity to candidates and external partnerships and internally to our current employees. You will be expected to encourage and facilitate engagement and be a culture champion.

Key Competencies you’ll need:

A day in the life:

  • Identify top talent and build industry talent pipelines that match the Velocity Risk identity and strategy.
  • Maintain and enhance recruiting processes and strategy for efficient, fast, and effective hiring.
  • Source active and passive candidates for 75-90% of Velocity’s roles.
  • Identify strategic positions to be externally sourced and manage the coordination of external partnerships, candidates and our leaders.
  • Build partnerships (programs, university partnerships, professional organizations) to grow our professional network and create a robust and relevant talent pipeline.
  • Provide recommendations and utilize market expertise to continually improve the recruiting experience from time-to-fill metrics to finding ways to creatively engage with top market talent.

Demonstrated experience for success:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Recruiting / Talent Acquisition role
  • Prior insurance industry recruitment experience is preferred but optional.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in recruiting for multiple roles simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience utilizing sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc., and are familiar with various tools and some advanced search techniques (Boolean)

We are open to this role reporting to our Chicago, Nashville, or Atlanta locations.
