Schedule: Full Time Shift: Day Shift plus call.  The community you’ll be caring for:

• Surgical Pioneers – the first in Tampa with the latest robotics in spine surgery

• Awarded the Get With The Guidelines – Stroke GOLD Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and have been recognized as a recipient of their Target: Stroke Honor Roll for our expertise in stroke care. We have also received certification by The Joint Commission in collaboration with the American Stroke Association as a Primary Stroke Center.

The role you’ll contribute: The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) initiates appropriate behaviors unique to first assisting, under direct supervision of the surgeon. Applies knowledge of surgical anatomy and physiology and operative technique relating to operative procedures, while maintaining a sterile environment. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Performs specialized nursing care in all phases of the peri-operative role within the Cardiovascular Surgical Area The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in managing patient flow-i.e. promotes timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review process.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.

Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
• Cognitive, psychomotor, and affective behaviors that demonstrate accountability and responsibility for identifying and meeting the needs of peri-operative patients.
• Graduate of a school of Nursing.
• Graduate of RN First Assist Program.
• Two years’ Cardiovascular Surgical Scrub experience.
• Two years’ Cardiovascular Surgical nurse experience.
• Cardiovascular Knowledge.
• Current Florida State licensure as RN.
• ACLS Certification.
• BLS Certification.
• CNOR Certification (through the AORN—Association of Operating Room Nurses)
• Privileges in good standing through AH medical staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

• Articulates comprehensive knowledge of advanced nursing theory and specialty nursing theory and practice for all age groups.
• Computer knowledge and skills.
• Two years’ RNFA experience.
• Four years’ Surgical nurse experience.
• CRNFA - Certification through officially recognized program.
• Bachelor’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
