Summary

Facilitates, coordinates, and communicates activities of various joint apprenticeship committees. In conjunction with the Apprenticeship Administrator, consults with operations managers in developing short and long-term apprenticeship goals and objectives. Analyzes apprenticeship activities and training materials for multiple trades and guides subject matter experts (SMEs) through reviews and updates of curriculum. Prepares documentation and reports as needed for internal customers as well as external entities such as the State Apprenticeship Office, Department of Labor. Involves high degree of interaction with employees, management, executives, community and education leaders, and others. 

What You'll Do

  • Lead Joint Apprenticeship Sub-Committee (JASC) meetings as assigned and represent the interests of SRP and workforce development. 
  • Prepare and analyze regular reports on apprenticeship demographics, turnover rates, and other relevant metrics. Present findings to Joint Apprenticeship Corporate Committee (JACC) and members of Sr. Leadership. Provide actionable insights on the findings. 
  • Analyze apprentice Training and Selection Processes to ensure adherence to Standards of Apprenticeship, SRP Policy, State and Federal Guidelines, and are up to date with industry best practices. Provide actionable recommendations to improve apprentice standards, training, and selections activities based on analysis findings. 
  • Develop and analyze workforce planning data and create dashboards for apprentice trades.
  • Using workforce planning data, collaborate with HR and management to predict future workforce needs based on business goals and industry trends. 
  • Respond to disputes, complaints and appeals where SRP policies and practices may be challenged by outside agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records, schedule facilities, and coordinate elements of assigned projects/tasks, for apprenticeship program.
  • Identify and conduct apprenticeship outreach events.
  • Schedule and implement apprenticeship selection activities. 
  • Maintain apprenticeship files for all apprentices in accordance with Department of Labor and SRP standards.

  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, and employee tracking abilities
  • Exceptional computer skills and grasp of Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Apprenticeship Standards

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the leader. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three years experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

 

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
