Job Description - Derivative Operations Manager

Alternate Locations: Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana); Radnor, PA (Pennsylvania)

 

  Work Arrangement:

Hybrid/Common Days+ : Work 2-3 days a week in a Lincoln office with a designated workspace.

The Role at a Glance

The Derivative Operations Manager will manage operational processes for Derivative investments in support of Lincoln’s hedging program on a Statutory, GAAP, Management & Tax reporting basis.

What you'll be doing

Manages a team supporting Operations activities in support of Lincoln’s hedging program, including trade capture, trade settlements, and monthly close processes including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and operational support across all hedging strategies.
Manages the process and provides more complex analysis of operational issues to continually improve the efficiency, operations, and process for the derivative and collateral operations team.
Identifies trends, issues and/or concerns and develops and recommends mitigation plans to management, including strategic transactions and associated impacts to hedging back-office operations and supporting evolving hedging strategy needs.
Consults on solutions to minimize risk and spend for the department in alignment with department and enterprise goals.
Completes quality assurance checks and relationship management of third- party supplier on operational processes and key internal partners. 
Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Manages and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Serves as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Ensures that top talent is hired and retained for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Builds organizational capability within their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Manages a team and processes for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.

 

What we’re looking for

Must-Haves
5+ Years of experience in accounting, securities or financial reporting that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. 
2+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.
Ability to evaluate information and the implications of a course of action or solution.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to identify and recommend processes improvements.
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
Demonstrates advanced relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues) and external clients.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.

Pay Range: $67,000 - $120,700 

 

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
