Job Description: This position offers the flexibility of up to two days of remote work per week. Basic Function: As the Director of the Project Management Office (PMO), you will be instrumental in overseeing day-to-day operations and optimizing project management processes within our Education sector. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this role requires a strategic thinker with robust leadership skills and a proven track record in successfully managing complex projects. Collaborating across departments is essential to ensure alignment with our university's overarching objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement project management strategies in alignment with the university's vision and goals. Provide leadership in planning, execution, and completion of projects across various departments. Oversee the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring successful and timely completion. Lead and mentor the project management team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture within the PMO. Collaborate closely with leadership, IT staff, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and align them with university priorities. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Identify and mitigate potential project risks, implementing risk management strategies to maintain project integrity. Evaluate and enhance project management processes and methodologies, implementing best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the PMO. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Provide project status updates to stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination. Participate in efforts to enhance project management transparency across the University. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Science, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of five years of proven experience in project management in an information technology environment. Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience or relevant professional experience demonstrating leadership abilities. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all organizational levels. Experience working with and managing multiple teams in a dynamic environment. Required Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide exemplary service and maintain positive relationships. Capacity to organize and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in collaboration with administrative users and Information Technologies staff members. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Science, Software Engineering, or related field. More than five years of proven project management experience in an educational or similar environment. Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP certification) are advantageous.
