Instrument, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) Technician

Work Location : Anaconda, MT

Pay range : $25.97 to $52.01 per hour

About this position:

The IC & E Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all instruments, control systems, and electrical equipment at the DGGS Facility. The IC & E Technician assists with the mechanical maintenance on predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks and is highly skilled in inspecting, testing, installing, and removing all electronic equipment and systems.

About this job:

  • Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems
  • Maintain complete equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment
  • Keep track of spare parts as they are used and complete a usage report in order to replace items as necessary; assist in physical inventories with other co-workers
  • Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records
  • Inspect, repair, install, and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, and storage batteries; operate with electrical systems up to and including 13,800 volts
  • Use hand tools, power tools ; operate heavy equipment machinery such as forklift and bobcat
  • Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on DCS, PLC (Allen-Bradley experience preferred), and PWPS turbine control equipment
  • Work overtime including participating in on-call rotation schedules, working evenings and weekend shifts in response to acute service needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Lift up to 75 pounds from floor level to waist level on a minimal basis
  • Travel to meetings and training
  • Research control and alarm systems
  • Train Operators on troubleshooting electrical equipment
  • Train new employees

Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical Degree in the Technical Field or similar is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technician and maintenance experience in electrical power generation and gas turbine
  • Experience working with voltages up to 13,800 volts is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
  • Arc Flash Training preferred
  • Commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • Successfully complete a DGGS Maintenance Technician Qualification within probation period of 1 year
